Our Approach
The struggle to build and expand a multiracial democracy is the defining challenge of our time.
At Freedom Together, we foster collaboration across our program strategy areas — developing short-, medium-, and long-term strategies that address the roots of the democracy crisis. The various factors driving this crisis – including threats to civil and human rights, weakened civil society, extreme economic inequality, and a dramatically altered information environment – require a holistic approach. We designed our program areas with this need in mind.
We believe that democracy is a team sport: Building and expanding a healthy, multiracial democracy is a task that no one foundation or organization can achieve alone. We are proud to learn from, and work alongside, other foundations and partners on the frontlines to maximize our impact.
