Democracy, Gender, and Racial Justice

We support efforts to expand multiracial democracy by funding organizations that seek to protect and strengthen basic democratic institutions and expand fundamental rights.

Freedom Together views the work of safeguarding democracy, expansively. Free and fair elections are essential to democracy, as is the right to bodily autonomy, communities free from discrimination, and a rich, diverse, powerful civil society striving for a more just and equitable society. Communities of color, LGBTQ communities, women, and immigrant communities, have been on the frontlines of pro-democracy movements around the world. We are committed to building a multiracial, pro-democracy movement in the United States powerful enough to win structural reforms that advance economic, racial, and gender justice. We also explore innovative ways to counteract authoritarianism.
